Senior Life Center
The Senior Life Center is centrally located at 434 Prior Street, S.E. Gainesville on the corner of Jesse Jewell Parkway close to award winning parks, a nationally acclaimed medical center, public transit, walking trails, senior housing, government offices, retail shopping, grocery stores, cafes and great restaurants. Each weekday some seventy older adults spend a part of their day at the center sharing a meal, fishing, working on craft projects, participating in wellness events, receiving health education, volunteering their time with young people at local schools, working in the computer lab, stretching their limbs with a yoga instructor, breaking a sweat on while doing Zumba, or hanging out with clubs such as the Men in Black, Red Hat Society or Travel Club.
Senior Life Center Features
The Senior Life Center provides a unique opportunity for seniors to meet and socialize in a fun, comfortable and senior friendly environment. Participants who range in age from 55 to 90 spend time at the center each weekday from 8am to 1pm. To get to the center, they drive themselves, participate in a carpool or hop on a bus arranged by the staff. In 2008, the Senior Life Center received national accreditation from the National Association of Senior Centers. In 2018, the center was completely renovated using SPLOST VII funds. The new center features a beautiful lobby, library, salon, conference space and rooms for dining, billiards, crafts, computers, meditation and lounging. If you would like to tour the center and meet the staff to determine if this is a place for you, just call 770.503.3336.
